Friday, Oct. 28th

We went over the process of SYNTHESIS.  If you were absent, ask someone who was here what the “train of thought” and “making brownies” mean.  We also went over some pointers on how to deliver an effective presentation.

We then got into the teams and started SYNTHESIZING and preparing for the presentation on Nov. 3rd.

Unfortunately, we do not have access to the computer lab next class, but we will have a laptop from the library, with wifi access,  for each group to prepare their media files.  If you have your own laptop, feel free to bring it.

Thursday, Oct. 6th

We went over how you will be assessed in AP Capstone Seminar.  You will not get a mark until June as you are acquiring and practicing  skills throughout the year.  Your mark is based on how well you have participated and demonstrated the skills summed up in Q.U.E.S.T..  Your Metacognitive Journal will provide proof of how you have demonstrated each of the LEARNING OUTCOMES of Q.U.E.S.T..  In addition, your MOCK TASK 1, MOCK TASK2 and MOCK END OF COURSE EXAMINATION will provide data on how well you have mastered these skills.

Your official TASK 1, TASK 2, and Examination will determine whether the College Board will give you credit for AP Capstone Seminar.  The good news is that UBC is now accepting successful completion of AP Capstone Seminar for credit towards your degree.

We went over LOGICAL FALLACIES today and will finish up the SKITS next class.

Please write a journal entry showing me what you have learned about ARGUMENTS.  What have you practiced?  What have you analyzed and understood?  This is due by next class.
