Tuesday, Nov. 29th

Your I.W.A. for Mock Task 2 was due today.  We spent the class doing an intensive self-edit of the argument before handing it in for marking.  Next class, we will be in the lab A213 working on the media for the Individual Presentations which begin on Monday, Dec. 5th.  Everyone must be ready.

Today was yet another work day on the INDIVIDUAL WRITTEN ARGUMENT.  Be sure to write an ARGUMENT (claim/thesis + reason{evidence and warrants}) and not merely a report.

Friday, Nov. 18th

Today was a work day on Mock Task 2.  The goal was to come up with a RESEARCH QUESTION that fulfills all the criteria on the “question mark” checklist.  Please post your RESEARCH QUESTION in the comment box below. (It may not appear immediately as  I must approve it first)

Your Individual Written Argument is due on Nov. 29th.  We will continue to work on this in B119 next week.  Let’s meet in the lab.

Monday, Nov. 14th

We did our second SOCRATIC SEMINAR on “The Life of Peasants,” and “Letter to My Nephew” today.  Please read “The Secret Life of Plants,” and “The Struggle to Govern the Commons” in preparation for next class.

You are invited to join the AP Capstone Research class tomorrow morning, Tuesday, Nov. 15th in Ms. Burbidge’s room to hear the Japanese students’ presentations.

Monday, Nov. 7th

We had the last two TEAM PRESENTATIONS today before your I.R.R.s were returned to you.

Please write a journal entry on this TEAM PROJECT experiences.  What have you learned?  What would you do differently next time?  What worked?  Are there any problems that you can’t solve?

I’ll return the TEAM PRESENTATION MARKS next class once I have scored the last two presentations.
